Mithraic Zine July 2025 Playlist
Be warned, this month’s playlist is truly unhinged… In honour of our Black Metal v Drill article, I felt I had to create a playlist to highlight the diversity of extremity and convictions that both these genres have produced over the years. Only the most extreme and controversial chosen. No convictions, no selection. (No Absurd though, blame Spotify!)

Mithraic Zine January 2025 Playlist
The January 2025 playlist is basically just a best of 2024 playlist mixed in with a couple of our interviews. You may think I’ve lost it a bit with randomly throwing in Coven and Black Sabbath at the end, but 1) fuck you, because both are great and acceptable for any occasion, and 2) because they are quite literally the progenitors of the sub-genre we stand here gathered today celebrating and both are going on tour in 2025. Isn’t that fucking nuts it’s still possible to go see Coven and Black Sabbath performing live somewhere like it’s 1970? – D.

Contributor D’s Metal Playlist
Pretty much what it says in the title, 30-or-so tracks that D thinks you should listen. Or don’t, but that’s what he’ll be listening to, or some variation of. Mostly Scandinavian black or death metal, with a sprinkling of Dutch and Polish metal thrown in as well.
