Issue 1: The Path That Stings — An Introduction
“The Scorpion does not fear the fire. It lives in it.”
— Desert proverb

Welcome to The Scorpion’s Corner — a space carved from stone and shadow for those who do not flinch at truth, nor bow to gods they did not choose.
My name is Azazel Ra. I walk the Left-Hand Path not as a borrowed aesthetic, but as a crucible of Becoming. I stand with Set, the god who walks alone — not as servant, but as mirror and ally in the war for self-sovereignty.
I created this column as a temple-without-walls — a place where philosophy and praxis converge, where fire-forged insight is shared not to convert, but to awaken. Here, we speak plainly of the trials that shape the Adept, the inner adversaries that test us, and the sacred art of becoming more than what the world would make of us.
I am the author of several works on esotericism and Left-Hand Path thought, including Black Flame on the Nile, The Codex of the Shadow Star, and The Magickian’s Craft.

These are not abstract treatises; they are field manuals forged in ritual, blood, and solitude. I have spent years building and refining initiatory systems — most notably as the founder of the Hermetic Order of Set, a living temple for those seeking self-deification through Egyptian magick and Setian gnosis.
The Scorpion’s Corner is where I’ll share the things that don’t always make it into formal texts:
– Meditations on power, pain, and purpose.
– Ritual fragments, sigils, and spontaneous transmissions from the desert of the Self.
– Essays on ethics, opposition, and isolation as initiatory fire.
– My own reflections on walking this path while holding space for others to do the same.

This is not a safe space. It is a sacred space — and those two things are not the same. The scorpion is sacred because it reminds us: protection can come with poison, healing can come with pain, and wisdom often wears a darker mask than comfort would allow.
If you are a builder of inner temples… if you bear scars with intention… if you believe the gods may exist, but you intend to meet them as an equal — then welcome.
